About DNEG
DNEG is one of the world's leading visual effects, animation, and stereo conversion companies, with credits including dozens of major studio releases and streaming titles. The studio's work moves pre-release content through a multi-stage pipeline that spans rendering farms, review rooms, color suites, and dub stages — every step a potential point of exposure.
By 2023, DNEG's content security obligations had outgrown a vendor-by-vendor, site-by-site approach. The TPN program had matured into its plus-tier standard. MPA member studios were expecting assurance posture at scale, across every facility, on a continuous cadence. DNEG needed a single partner who could assess the entire footprint to one standard, surface gaps consistently, and support remediation across teams, time zones, and tooling.
The challenge
A multi-site TPN program is not seventeen separate assessments. It is one assessment program with seventeen execution points — and the only way it works is if a single assessor team applies a single standard across every site, every time, with a single source of evidence and remediation tracking.
Sites across multiple time zones, with regional team leads, language considerations, and local infrastructure context to navigate.
Different facility types — rendering, animation, color, dub — with different workflows, different tooling, and different control profiles.
Tier achievement at one site is not the goal. Tier achievement at every site, defended to MPA member studios, on every audit cycle — is.
Annual assessments do not protect against between-cycle drift. Posture has to be evidence-backed year-round, not just at audit time.
The approach
Convergent's approach to multi-site TPN engagements is organized around one program, one assessor team, one standard — and one platform holding the evidence.
Scope, schedule, and standard of work agreed across all 17 facilities upfront. Single point of accountability on both sides.
Assessor teams deploy regionally with consistent methodology. Sanctum holds findings and evidence in one place.
Findings are calibrated across sites so the same gap raises the same recommendation — no regional drift in severity or guidance.
Tracked in Sanctum with the relevant DNEG facility teams. Convergent supports between assessor visits, not just during them.
Every site assessed to TPN Gold, with consistent evidence, traceable remediation, and submission to TPN on DNEG's behalf.
The outcome
Could this be your program?
The DNEG engagement is one of several multi-site TPN programs Convergent runs. The first conversation is with a senior assessor who can scope what your equivalent looks like.
